Welcome to Seville

Seville is a very beautiful city known for its mix between arab and cristian that you can see all over the city. There are lots of things to do in Seville but the most important places to visit are:

The Cathedral: Its the 3rd biggest cathedral in the world. It was built in the 16th century. It contains the Giralda, a tall tower from which you can see Seville perfectly. It's a very good place to take photos and to do a bit of sport because you have to climb 34 slopes to get to the top of the Giralda. It was registed as a World Heritage Site in 1987 by UNESCO.
.

The Alcazar: It's an islamic palace with a huge beautiful garden where you can see where the arab king used to live. It's the oldest royal palace still in Europe, and it is also a World Heritage Site.

Maria Luisa's Park: It's the most famous park in Seville. Recently it has been declared Cultural Interest Good and it's also part of the Historical Heritage of Spain.

What's in the jar?

These weeks we (4th B and D) have been working on a charity project, but it started to be organized nearly two months ago, it’s called “what’s in the jar?”

This all begins nearly 2 months ago when our teacher told us to do research on a charity. I had to look for an environmental friendly charity so I decided to look for information from Greenpeace.

Then in groups of 4 to 6 people we had to decide on a charity and prepare a powerpoint explaining what the charity does and think about an activity to raise money for it. When all the powerpoints were presented we voted for the best idea and it came to be the “what’s in the jar?” project.

It consisted in filling up a jar with candies and, after paying 1 euro, people had a chance to win all the sweets that were in the jar if he or she guessed the exact number of candies in the jar. All the money collected would be given to Cáritas.

So we started to work on the project: some people were in charge of contacting with the charity, and the principal teacher to ask for permission to organize the activity, others were in charge of designing, printing and sticking the posters on the school’s walls and others were in charge of the stand.

We advertised it all over the school, even in social nets, and in Friday 10th we finally did the activity and it went better than I thought it would, we raised a lot of money and we were able to have the Tomares Cáritas

President there who was very happy to see what we had organized to help poor people. All the money was going to pay poor people’s electricity bills in Tomares.

So I think it was a very good experience, we learned how to organize events and it was for a good cause!

Here you have some pictures of the day!

My Greatest Ability

One of my greatest abilities is that I can learn languages very fast.

I've always been interested in learning languages, strange words fascinate me. That has to do qith the fact that I like travelling to other countries and learning a bit of them.

Learning languages takes the time you want, because you decide how much time you want to spend on it. In my case I go to an English academy, I've been going to that academy since I was 6. It's very near my house and I only have to go 3 hours a week.

I find this ability very useful for the future when I have to look for a job, the more laguages you know, the more possibilities you have to get the job.

In conclussion, that's why I think it's one of my greatest abilities, not very difficult and useful for the future.

This is the academy where I go every Tuesdays and Thursdays

Belenes in Seville

Belenes

Hello everybody!
Today I'm going to talk about Belenes, specially the places where you can find them.

For example you can see Belenes in banks, they're very big and have a lot of figures. You can also see this kind of Belenes in  Shopping Centres

Hospitals are another place to see Belenes, these are not as big as the other ones because they are usually made by people with mental problems.

Another place to watch Belenes are churches, these are usually the most beautiful ones, you can do a donation after watching it.

But the most common thing is to have a Belen at home, almost everyone has one.

Thanksgiving day

Today it's Thanksgiving day and I'm writing this to thank for my parents, friends and the things I have.

My parents, they give me a lot of support and they are very king with me: they let me stay in the street until it's late, they give me money from time to time, they let me go to sleep to my friends' houses... And that's why I want to thank them for all they do for me.

Next thing to thank for are my friends, they are very kind and sociable, we usually meet at the weekends and we have very good times laughing, listening to music and playing computer games. They're very important for me and I want to thank them for those moments.

And finally I want to thank for all the things I have, I consider myself a very lucky person: I have a house, my parents have jobs, I can eat when I want and I have a ot of things like clothes, one computer, a smartphone, a playstation... And this is what I want to thank for.

In conclussion, the thing I have to thank more for is for my parents who had given me all I have.

Horror film: The Doom

Kanye west homecoming lyrics

FILL IN THE GAPS

Yeah
And you say Chi City,
Chi City, Chi City
I'm comin' home again
Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about me now and then?
'Cause I'm comin' home again,
I'm in home again

I met this girl when I was three years old
And what I loved most, she had so much soul
She said, "Excuse me, little homie, I know you don't know me
But my name is Wendy and I like to blow trees"
And from that point I never blow her off
Niggas come from outta town, I like to show her off
They like to act tough, she like to tow 'em off
And make 'em straighten up their act 'cause she know they soft
And when I grew up, she showed me how to go downtown
And at nighttime my face lit up, so astoundin'
And I told her in my heart is where she always be
She never mess with entertainers 'cause they always leave
She said it felt like they walked and drove on me
Knew I was gang affiliated, got on TV and told on me
I guess it's why last winter she got so cold on me
She said, "Ye Keep makin' that, keep makin' that platinum and gold for me"

Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about me now and then?
'Cause I'm comin' home again,
I'm in home again
Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about me now and then?
Oh, now I'm comin' home again
Maybe we could start again

But if you really cared for her Then you wouldn't've never hit the airport
To follow your dream, sometimes I still talk to her
But when I talk to her, it always seems like she talkin' about me
She said, "You left your kids and they just like you
They wanna rap and make soul beats just like you
But they just not you and I just got through
Talkin' 'bout what niggas tryin' to do just not new"
Now everybody got the game figured out all wrong
I guess you never know what you got 'til it's gone
I guess this is why I'm here and I can't come back home
And guess when I heard that when I was back home
Every interview I'm representin' you, makin' you proud
Reach for the stars so if you fall you land on a cloud
Jump in the crowd, spark your lighters, wave 'em around
And if you don't know by now, I'm talkin' about Chi Town

Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about me now and then?
'Cause I'm comin' home again, I'm in home again
Baby, do you remember when fireworks at Lake Michigan?
Oh, now I'm comin' home again,
I'm home again
Baby, do you remember when fireworks at Lake Michigan?
Oh, now I'm comin' home again,
Maybe we could start again

Loyee, oyee, oh, loyee, oyee, oh
Comin' home again
Loyee, oyee, oh, loyee, oyee, oh
Comin' home again
Maybe we could start again.

Song project: Homecoming. Comments about the photos

This is Chicago city; it is in the centre of the United States, on the south east coast of the Michigan Lake. It is in the state of Illinois. The connection to the song is that the singer was bred in that city and in the songs he says he wants to return to that city because there he met a girl when she was young.
In this picture we can see a boy and a girl holding their hands. They have just met each other and from that moment, they fell in love. I think that this image is really romantic because since people are young they can feel the same as old people.
The photo is spontaneus and natural. The relationship between the photo and the song is that the man is Kanye West (the author of the song) and the girl is the woman that he knew when he was little.
In this picture we can see a girl and a boy hugging each other. They’re at a train station, so maybe they are saying good bye, or they can be meeting again. As the song says, it’s always a pleasure to come back home, and meet your people.
This image represents the part of the song when the woman leaves the man carrying with their children, and the man says that you don’t know what you have until you lose it
They are fireworks at the Lake Michigan, the singer repeat at the last verses that maybe the girl remember them.

A funny day full of crepes

I'm going to speak about the day I spet cooking crepes with my classmates. We had a lot of fun and some technical problems.

I think that fun was a very important factor for the harmony of the group. We laughed a lot and we had a very good day. Although when we were going to film we had to be serious, the rest of the time we were laughing and we had some funny scenes.

But when we were going to put the scenes together we had a big problem, we couldn't see the secenes on the computer, so we couldn't make the full film. Finally we managed to solve the problems and we were able to present the video to the class.

In conclussion I think this was a very interesting experience full of fun, crepes and some technical problems.
They weren't like this but they were very good!

1000 cranes for peace

We're going to talk about the law SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act). Especially about the wish of closing some very famous pages as YouTube, Tuenti, Facebook, and some others.

Do you think this is right? I think it isn't because this pages I mentioned before don't affect to the economy, it's true that megaupload affected but not YouTube, nor Tuenti, nor Facebook. I think this can generate a very very big problem between governs and teenagers, who are the people who usually use these pages.

The only thing we can do at the moment is enter on the web "avaaz.org" and enter our email to protest against this law.

Sadako Sasaki
